Having run a 996 C2 (MY1999) from new doing 40k miles, I never had to top up the oil. The car was well used doing approx 10 track days, but run in carefully.
My new car is only 6 months old (C4S MY 2003) I've done 5K miles driven it exactly the same as my old car but I have had to put 1.5 litres of oil in it.
Is this normal?
Having been to several track days I have noticed that most facelift 996 cars when they start up puff out large clouds of blue smoke. However mine does not do this. It doesn't look very good for a 60 "" 70K car.

I have never seen older 911's doing this.
