Hi there
Does anyone know of a reputable place where I can buy OEM parts for a major service. I have a local garage who can fit the parts but would rather buy original parts.
Such as:
Oil and filter
Brake Fluid
Spark plugs
Air filter
Poly rib belt
Fuel Filter

Thanks

OPC is the cheapest 1/2 the time for oem parts, where you do you think 3rd party buy the parts from :)

I think that it’s important to distinguish between original and OEM parts. Original parts are those which you will receive when purchasing from an official Porsche dealer whereas my understanding is that OEM parts will have been manufactured by the original producer of a vehicle's components and are identical to the parts used in producing a vehicle, but they will not have a Porsche part number.

OEM parts can be obtained from third party outlets such as Design 911 and will be considerably cheaper than the original parts while - presumably - being of an equivalent quality, and can be used quite safely on your 986. Many Porsche Independents happily will use OEM parts unless requested to use original parts … you could always ask a local Independent what parts they use.

Engine oil and brake fluid can be purchased from outlets such as Opie Oils who are a useful source of reference and advice.
