Nurburgring 24hr Rennen 2013.

Ex Skyline

New member
Hi all,
Just want to see if there's any interest at this stage before i "leap into action" and put my organising head on! I am going, as always, along with a couple of mates so, just wanted to see if any of you lot fancied a "Petrolhead's wet dream" as well![8D][8D][8D][:D]. If you have never been before, I will say just two word's "Fcuking Awesome"!! We go very early on the Thorsday morning by Euro Shuttle and usualy get to Eddie's Hotel around midday. Then, the drunken madness begins, along with about a quarter of a million crazed, drunken Germans!! The Classic race is on the Thorsday evening and continues on the Friday afternoon. It is a totaly fantastic event! The 24hr Rennen proper starts on the Saturday afternoon and, finishes (would you believe) 24hrs later on the Sunday afternoon. This race is indescribable, what with the Manthey Porsche's [8D], you just have to see it for yourselves! Ton's of excellent food, like minded, drunken nutter's, ocean's of top quality beer! Need i say more? We come home on Monday morning after a good breakfast, to get a Euro Shuttle from Calais back to blighty! A truly nutz five day's, which makes Le Mans look like Roary the Racing Car and friends!
Have i wetted anyone's appetite? [8D][:D].
Pete

Skyline, when does this happen date wise ? if the other trip mentioned fizzles out i could be up for it along with a few other souls, F..... It i win the lottery i will came anyway come what may [:D]

Greetings Frenchy, well the 2013 calander isn't confirmed until just after christmas but, it's usualy around early June except the year before last it was mid May. I will post the dates as soon as i have them. [:D]

This race and track can not be praised enough!!
I have been many times to Le Mans and only 1 time to the 24H of Nürburgring but for sure the Nürburgring is the far more attractive event in my eyes - only problem can be the weather as it tends to be quite cold in the night and the risk of rain is quite high :-(
Watching the mighty race and all the strugling teams in anything from 125 BHP Group N Saxos and up to the fire breathing Merc SLS, BMW Z4, 458 GTE, R8 V10 and not least the glorious GT3's :)

Hope to see a lot of you there! :)

Niels

Who cares about the weather after a couple of pints.

Looks like it will next take place in May : http://www.ausringers.com/2012/09/12/2013-nurburgring-24-hour-race-dates-confirmed.html

I suppose looking for a hotel is too late already, is camping the norm for the average petrolhead?

It's a great race and I've been a few times, I however don't think the format your suggesting would suit. I think if I wanted to go on p*55 up I'd go to the Oktoberfest.

Only problem with the Oktoberfest is that it lasts 10 days. A mate and I gave up after 7 days, as we could not handle it anymore. Camping in November, I mean [:D]

It certainly does look like May. Dates are out early this year! I'm going to send a e-mail to Eddy tonight to see what availability he has and will let you all know what he says. Otherwise, yes, camping is the norm'. I have a VW T4 Campervan so if Eddie has'nt got the rooms available i can plot up in his car park and use his facilities [;)]! Sorted [8D]!!
Seriously though, does anyone else fancy this one?
Pete

Hi all, just to let you know, i have just managed to secure a four bed apartment right beside the track at Breidscheid Bridge from my mate Eddy (last one left and no room in his hotel)and, i am over the moon!![:D][8D]. There are defo' two of us going and, maybe a third so, maybe one or even two places left. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.I just cant wait!![8D]. If it's just the two of us we will go in the 44 Turbo. If there's more of us then it's the vw T4. How ever many, it can't come quick enough!![8D]
