Now a Cayenne

Hi guys.
Had a Boxter for 18 months and now I'm looking to add a Cayenne to my garage.

I need a larger car which seats at least 5. Has a large load space and that I can add roof bar's to.

The car is probably going to be a mid 2000's one. What are the advantages of owning a Cayenne? over, say, a Land Rover. I know LR's have iffy reliability. Whats the reliability like on the Cayenne?

My advice, keep the Boxster and look for a non-Porsche bigger car.

I have had Cayennes from 2013 thru till today, Cayenne Diesel from 2013 - 2019, Cayenne S Diesel from 2019 - 2025, Cayenne S Petrol 2025 - Today.
Both diesels were brilliant as I cover approx 17k miles a year and the only problem I had with them was the Transfer Box but it was covered under the warranty. They both were very economical with minimal servicing oil and filter every 20k miles and tyres say every 15k/ 20k miles.
The new Cayenne S Petrol superb SUV but thirsty 18/22 mpg .
I had a Range Rover prior to the Cayennes and got rid of it after about 8 months so unreliable.

Cayenne is a great vehicle and generally reliable but as with any Porsche if anything goes wrong it can be very expensive. The age you're looking at puts you outside the comfort blanket of a Porsche extended warranty so just be aware.
