Manual Cayman S
Occasionally, when I turn the ignition key to start the engine, nothing at all happens (obviously the battery is fully charged!). I always start with my foot on the clutch. After about a couple of goes (during which I have additionally pressed the footbrake), it starts. Has anyone else had this problem and do you think the footbrake is anything to do with it? The handbook does state that the first thing one should do is operate the footbrake. Why? My learned OPC ServiceManaged tells me that it is not necessary to depress the footbrake in a manual Cayman (it is in a Tip) and thinks that my clutch micro switch may be faulty. He says there should be a click when it is depressed, but I can't hear it! Mind you, I think I'm as deaf as a post. Do I have a fault (the car, not me)......?
