New waterpump and thermostat - now big header tank pressure? (And higher temp and more fans)

Yep, it is getting a bit on the long side [&:] Well, I'm 99% sure it's not the bleeding that's the problem. Bled it two or three times at different engine temps, and only water at the bleed screw each time. Level in the expansion tank has only dropped very slightly, and that's probably due to all the bleeding! I took a longer drive home and temp was near the centre of the gauge until I got stuck in a bit of traffic, when the temp rose a bit and the fans started. The temp did seem to drop back to a bit above centre, but the fans then kept going until I got home and for a couple of minutes after I switched off. (Perhaps Rob is right, & the switch in the rad that controls the fans needs to be replaced). One thing I did notice is that while the big hose from block to radiator was hot, the small hose from water pump area to radiator seemed to be cold. Not sure if this is right, and I don't think I've ever checked the temp of that hose before after a run [&:] Engine is definitely running hotter than before - it smells hotter, and the oil pressure (which never used to drop below 5 under acceleration and 4 ish at hot idle) now gets to 4 under acceleration after a long run / in traffic and 3 at hot idle. Hmmm.

2.5 to 3 bar oil pressure at idle is absolutely correct [:)] obviously depending on your oil grade. And yes that does make a difference trust me.

10W40 semi synth. I did think that my oil pressure used to be fairly high, but the car seemed well on it and better than having the pressure too low. Cheers again Rob!
