New turbo rims?!

Porsch

New member
Hy all,

I have a good deal and I could buy 18" rims from new Carrera Turbo ( not original, it`s replica). Now I have 17" with 255/40/17 rear and 225/45/17 front!Did anyone tried to put 18" rims on 964? I have also adjustable Koni shocks! I would put 9x18 or 10x18 on rear?! Any suggestions?

Thank you

Alex,

The official line is that 18" wheels were not approved by Porsche for fitment to any 964 other than the 3.6 Turbo and, I believe, the RSR. However, having said that there are lots of 964 roaming around with 18" wheels fitted. You do need to be careful about the offsets though because the later cars use different offsets to those required on the 964.

Mille Miglia do an 18" Turbo Twist set for the 964 with 8.5J fronts (ET52) and 10J rears (ET47) which fit the narrow bodied cars perfectly. If you get wheels with offsets significantly different to that you should plan on using spacers (if you can) to get back to those settings.

Wheels of this size will take 225/40 and 265/35 tyres. I have a set of these wheels in my garage with half worn Yokohama AVS Sport tyres fitted if you are still looking.

Regards

Dave
