New Service Book

Does anyone know whether new -1998 type service books are still available from Porsche? I last bought one in 1994 when they cost about £5, but what appears to be the part number on it doesnt generate a deal of interest in D911s part finder.

My Turbo book is full, so Im trying to decide whether to disassemble it and add two pages from the book that I already have (along with the new binder), scan the new pages and print more on 280gsm card, or buy a whole new book.

Amazingly I have found the invoice! February 1995 and the ex VAT price was £7:50, but after discount it was delivered for £9:40 and the part number was correct: 900.020.87.

After spending half an hour on the telephone with Sheffield OPC, theyre technically available, but theres no stock in Reading or in Germany (and no price).

This means that theyll be reprinted when enough people have ordered them, but no one can say how long itll take nor what theyll cost. Apparently theyve been waiting for 986 Boxster books for approaching a year.

Im going to take an unused page 5 & 6 out of an existing book and insert it into the Turbos service book using the binding off the new (but stamped twice) book. At a later date Im going to scan and reproduce the new service / oil change and coolant /brake fluid pages on card similar to the originals, if anyone would be interested? You might have to make you own (29) holes though!

I have a PDF of a page "7a Maintenance Record" which is a blank page for inserting into your full service book. I can e-mail it over if it's any use?

Send me your e-mail address if you want it.
