Not sure if its been spotted before, but on changing my cars expansion tank I found where the old one had swelled, it had rubbed the paint away in 3 large places on the inner wing. On looking at the 2nd hand one, it had the same witness marks as mine (so not just my car).
I have had to rub the area down and re-paint.
The rust was not too deep but I'm quite glad my tank was leaking. Def an area worth checking if you need to mess with the cooling system.
