I recently sold my 04 plate boxster as i was never really using the car, as i work on central london.. a 944 was a car as i always wanted as a kid.. (i'm 26) so i decided i would get one and restore her bit by bit as something to do on a sunday...

Yesterday morning I woke up to this...

I live in a nice area, but there is one family the dont work, rent paid for etc, and someone saw them do it, Police was called etc.. but it does not fix my car.

So i now need a drivers side window - ordered.
Also the badge and o/s headlamp cover was removed..
Any ideas where i can source a red one?

geeze... sry to see this... I hate this shit... these types are low life and need to be dealt with fully within the law, some may say outside too but I'm not for that, reap what you sow and all that biblical crap.. yes I was brought up as a catholic so I guess some of that sticks..lol

I strongly advise you not to drop this , if you do it will only happen again, it may happen again anyway but these scum need to learn that you will fight for what is yours.
good luck and welcome to the forum, I only wish it could be under better circumstances...

regards

Pete.. also from London and any nearby scum know not to mess with me, my boy's are well known....:)

No matter where you live there's always a percentage of low-life scum present. I am sorry you encountered yours.

Window glass should be readily available from any one of the breakers (see the sticky). Porsche crest can be had either new from your local OPC or again from one of the breakers.

The headlamp cover is another matter. Not many Guards Red 944s are Guards Red any more. The paint fades and the red probably fades most of all so your chances of getting one that comes anywhere near matching the colour of the rest of you car is remote. You would be better off looking for a new headlamp cover (they are available) and then getting a decent body shop to match the colour for you.

Yep, but then you could take a punt on a cover in red, and if it's too far out then get it sprayed? Worth taking a chance I guess.

Gutting, but hopefully it's a one-off and welcome to the forum!

another way to get a match would be to visit a Porsche breakers and take the other cover with you to try and find a match, a long shot yes but you never know.

Pete

a red cover will be fine for now, as i plan on a full respray and new rubbers in the new year.. so it does not need to be a perfect match

i have just broken a guards red 944 and the covers were in pretty good condition. I have several more so if you want to send your other cover i can coplour match it for you

Really sorry 2 hear that.

Iv got 2 head light covers in red, what side do u need? Left got a small dent, right is fine, Iv got a new bonnet badge as well, gold script type. Glass I would get on insurance. If you intention is 2 tidy up the car as much as poss a new window will be better then one from scrap yard.

You can get one of those covers if you don't mind something non original. I have never heard of anyone getting one repaired. I got lucky and found an uncracked one from a 924 on ebay.

there is one on ebay now for £85

I have an uncracked dash which I should sell. Ive had it for 15+ years in my garage and in that time one small crack has appeared in between two vents. This happened about 3-4 years ago and it has been stable since.

Id been keeping it for my 924 Carrera GT, but the chance of my owning one now is so remote that I think that hanging on to it would be a folly.

That's the one from my old car. It's in great condition, crack free with only a very slight mark on it where something has been stuck on it in the past.

I'll bet if you took the dash to a GOOD flockers they would fill the dash and make it look good :)
