Hi All,

I'm new to Porsche's. I have picked myself up a 944 S2, and I'm loving it!

It does need quiet a few jobs doing to it. One of which is replacing the central locking plastic arms. Does anyone know if they can still be bought and how much they are?
I've been reading around, but can't seem to find the answer. So please don't flame me if I have missed it.

Regards,
Jevon[:D]

Main dealers will have them and you will find that they won't be expensive, if you are a PCGB or TIPEC member you will also get a discount. Welcome aboard !!

Welcome mate. Try Alasdair (sulzeruk on the forum) or elliot (forum name) from Porka Parts. Both deal in second hand parts and maybe able to help you out.

Hi and welcome! If it's the little white rods that connect the solenoid to the lock mechanism then yes. I got a couple a few months back, about £2 each and available from OPC. Stuart

Hi All, Here's the first pic! Thanks for the info on the arms. Glad to hear they are not too costly. I also have a gearbox question, that I hope someone can help with. Basically I am trying to identify which gearbox I have. The car was first registered in January 1990. So I'm guessing it was built in late 1989. So I assume a have an AOS or AOT (M220) gearbox? However I'm unsure where the identification (if any) is on the box. I've had a glance under there, but I can't see anything obvious. Also, I have adjustable rear dampers if that helps (Or do all 944s have adjustable dampers as standard?) [8|] Cheers, Jevon

I've found out that there is an options sticker in the boot behind the rear carpet! this will tell me about all the options that my car was sold with. Wicked! [:D]

Excellent, I have options, 288 424 533 593 605 650 946 And an AOS gearbox. So no M220 option for me!!! Data available on this website. Most things I have to be told twice - thats why they call me Grandad![;)] Re your web address - I have collected bits from this Guy I when I have been fishing in the Keys. (He (Ian) is English his business is close to Miami) Its quicker for me to pop over the Road and tell you this than sit at the keyboard[:-]

Good Evening John! I'm loving finding out all about the 944 specs. The boot mechanism is now very smooth by the way. Ordered my central locking arms today. £1.38 + VAT, and they are going to post them to me for free. Can't ask fairer than that. I'm now going to cherry pick the next job off the list. Cheers, Jevon
