Dare I ask what Porsche want for them?

Loads of other options out there, any reason you want the 2RS turbos in particular?

they want around the 7k mark for the both the reason i want to stick with vtg turbos theres alot less involved. non vtg turbo setup alot more to do to get them running right

Have a word with Ken at nineexcellence, they do a lot of well respected modding work and may be able to help you find what you are looking for, if not the original parts, perhaps an alternative

JESUS H CHRIST HOW MUCH??!! [][][]

Yeah, I think I'd be looking elsewhere too. 9E would be my shout too, but don't forget you're limited to about 600bhp if you've a PDK car.

I wonder if someone might have a contact in Germany who might be able to source them cheaper? I'd chuck a post up on PH as well.

Porsche only made 500 997GT2 RS cars. I don't see the bespoke parts being readily available anywhere else unless you get really lucky to find someone who sourced some from Porsche and then their plans changed. Even Porsche may only have a few spare (why would they need more?) and beyond that, they'd order one from the manufacturer if they ran out. The manufacturer wouldn't be producing them but would pull up the design and make a couple if requested. This is really low volume stuff.

As an example, the Boxster Spyder roof costs £2,400 and if you're unluckly when you want one, you have to wait months whilst one is made (luckily i've not needed one!). It's only a single skin fabric and a piece of carbon fibre. So it's not surprising that they'll want £7K for a pair of low volume turbochargers, even if there isn't £7K of hardware in them.

They also won't want people taking the innards out of a £164K car and cheaply building their own, so they aren't going to mass produce the parts or price them in line with mass production.

Why not look at DMS, they can tune your car with hybrid turbos and give you pretty much as much power as you want. No need for GT2RS turbos, although for 620hp you are looking at an outlay of about 10 grand.

There is often a trade-off to higher power --- in the form of turbo lag.

I had a 996 Turbo X50 and really didn't like it --- by comparison my 997 GT2 (non RS) is fantastic.

Can anybody comment on the comparison between this and a GT2RS ? I did drive one briefly at the Silverstone experience centre and was very impressed ...
