Need a new set of track tyres

As per title, it's to time to get a new set and would appreciate your thoughts:

Stick with Toyo R888 even though they're not as cheap as they used to be?

Kumho V70A - Camskill have a good offer on them at the moment (less than £700 for a set)

Dunlop DZ03 - most expensive but are they worth the extra?

Need them for 17 inch wheels hence why I've not mentioned Michelin super sports or MPSC which are not available as 17s.

That's interesting because that's the tyre that has been adopted for the new CSCC Production Porsche series.

The problem with trying a new tyres is that if you don't like the new ones you're either stuck with your choice or the cost of changing, neither of which is desirable.

As most of us know, the 888s are pretty impressive but if you are tempted to look around, check what deals are available on Yokohamas, the AO48 is similar from memory and has performed well in magazine tests.

You might want to look at the Avon ZZR too. The Lotus On Track RDC switched to them at the beginning of last season and have been really impressed.

Good post, 888 seem a good option, I've raced lighter cars on 0048s, and they are similar and great, but I dont think they work as well on heavier cars. Unless you can get something cheaper stick with them.

The increasing cost of 888s is a pain, I'm guessing We'll need a set for the Euro trip, so keen to see the price you pay.
