NEC Classic Show

Edd - from my house Snetterton is about a four and a half our drive, making this particular get together too far away. Which is a shame.

I was going to pop in on the Saturday but I'll see how work is shaping out and try to switch for Friday, it would be great to meet up for a natter. Will you be in the Turbo, is the flywheel all sorted now?

Geoff and I are going to the NEC on Saturday. On Sunday we will be at Snetterton all day as part of the SCCoN team, fitting people into the cars going out on track. The 944 will be in with the Region 12 Porsche club stand I guess as that who we arranged to go with! We did this last year, which was great - even more planned for this year, so just keeping fingers crossed for dry weather!

The flywheel is now fixed (replaced), so the gear change is much improved. JMG dropped the car off on Friday evening, apparently all fixed and ready to go. When I started it the next morning I had major steam issues, so called Jon and sent him a video clip of the problem. The upshot is that they are collecting it for some investigative and rectification work. Possibly another new head gasket? So I won't be able to bring it on Friday - I'll probably be in the Maserati. I have to say the 944 is beginning to wear me down. In less than 20 months JMG have done more than £20k of repairs, upgrades and servicing on it, and it's still not useable. Hmm...

NEC on Saturday was really good but very busy. Snetterton on Sunday was much better than last year, the sun even shone. Good collection of 944s even made the local press (see the EDP website). Had a great 3 laps on the track in a 968 clubsport, very entertaining. 138 on the back straight - nice.

Please don't say that Ewan!! There's me thinking JMG are the best Porsche Engineers that God put breath in![:(]

Cheers Mike - surprise you needed a nudge to do that! [:D] I really must get to the show (although Snetterton would have been happening for me this year if the weekend hadn't gone pear-shaped) Haven't been for a few years, used to help run the MK1 Golf club stand, always enjoyed the show
