My New car has arrived

My long awaited car arrived at the dealers yesterday afternoon and I could not resist popping down to see it before I collect it on Tuesday.

I would have collected it on Monday but the dealer is fitting an Airbag de-activation switch for the passengers Airbag and it is having Superguard treatment on the paintwork.

I know my colour choices will not be to everyones taste but I wanted a change.

Tony what a fab car and great colour combo. Don't forget the ceramic brakes need to be warm to work best, don't get caught out !

Try and get it clayed and zymolled it will then keep the paintwork fab and also depending on which Zymol you use protect against stone chips

hi tony

car looks great whats the colour combo, inside looks stunning , iam going to do a factory collection for my turbo.

No need to apologise for that Tony, very nice.

But.

Are you sure you are old enough to drive !

Thank you for your positive comments.

I was half expecting ' Why did you not choose Black with a black interior or Silver with Black interior ?'

It is Brown or in Porsche talk Macadamamia Metallic. The interior is a light brown or Sand Beige in Porsche talk. The wood trim is medium brown which Porsche call Sycamore.

I had planned a factory collection but our Daughter's baby arrival co-incided with the collection date so we had it delivered (The car not the baby). As it has turned out, the car is now here but we are still awaiting delivery of the baby.

Cool.

There is hope for me yet then, I sort of thought that as a Guy in his late 30's ( very late ) and now Porscheless I had failed and would not be allowed by the Fashion Police to have another one.

Of course, you might just have had a very long paper round ?

Respectfully

Yves

i am drooling
i think it looks a beautiful colour choice[;)]
i bet your grandson(i presume)is itching for a drive
still hoping i will have saved enough before our daughter starts producing....(i reckon we have 2 or 3 yrs yet!)

Tony, Stunning looking car [:D]

I for one, are really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh....
The colour has had some debate as you know, but I think it suits the cab really well.

Long weekend of sunshine if your picking it up on monday [;)]

Lovelly car - as always buy what you like and enjoy it. I am a converst to Sand Beige and have it as the interior of my current beast (prior to that Boxter Red and Terracotta on my 986/987)

The Macademia looks really good on the turbo Cab even if ti reminds me of the 70's

Hope you can make it to one of the 997 register events soon so I can drool over it, and start to persuade she who must be obeyed that we should be starting to save for a 998 turbo when they come or a 997s if it looks like they are going to ban them for being fun.

Enjoy.

Beautiful !

Don't wear black jeans with Sand beige or you will be forever cleaning it- as I've found to my cost !

Tony
Thats is a beautiful car - and excellent pictures.
I love the interior colour, but the again I am biased - mine is Savannah which is very similar.
I hope you have many enjoyable miles with the car - its a stunner!![8D]

Tony, car looks the business !!
As for the PCCB's, from my own experience with the latest version, I really don't notice any difference between hot and cold use on the road at least.
One thing you need to watch however, is that after washing your car the brakes are very poor for the first few 100m, like steels but significantly worse.
It seems the water gathers inside the disks or something, just remember to cycle them a good few times before you need them in anger.

Actually, the latest pccbs are very effective from cold, (or hot). If you do the Millbrook Day, the Porsche instructor will show you how to get the best from them on track.

Tony - my Grandson called mine 'brown' the other day - and conversation came to a halt!
Thank god it's back in fashion.

Btw, someone who replied said - "and also depending on which Zymol you use protect against stone chips "

I would love to know exactly what product that may be - many thanks.

Looks like a fab colour combination, as said before, harks back to the 70's.

But the wood [&o] Give it back to Mercedes.....

But the wood [&o] Give it back to Mercedes.....

If I did give the wood back to Mercedes , they would give it 5 coats of high gloss laquer so that it ended up looking like pretend wood.

Porsche wood is the business. Natural satin look and I think it breaks up what could be the monotony of a complete sand beige interior.

I did think about carbon fibre trim but somehow it jujst didn't go with sand beige[;)]
