Hi all

Thought I'd post a new thread introduce my new to me 996 C4S, I lurk over on 911uk too looking forward to joining a few meets and bringing it to a few events around the south east this season. Purchased It from Oli at Bur Valley Classics great to deal with and happy so far just need to get It and drive It as soon as the weather permits.

I wasn't meant to be looking for another car as I haven't sold my Lotus Exige S but I had to jump on It because I sort of fell in love with it... I clearly love a 996 this will be my 3rd the first two I had that started my itch was 996.1 C2's this is a little different but always like the look of the CSR stuff nice choice upgrades all been put together by a great team and lovely package inside and out, I took delivery of It just yesterday had it inspected by Goss Hall Classics all looks great I'm just looking forward to nice weather to go driving.

I'm sure this example has been either owned by a fellow member or seen by you guys but just thought I'd start a new thread and hope to update this with future changes/maintenance/cleaning!

Started life as a 2004 C4S Basalt Black non Sunroof black leather but now fully Retrimmed in alcantara and a set of Recaro Pole positions with houndstooth inserts.

Image taken from RPM's stock photo when It was built late 2018 I will add my own as soon as I get It home.

Just thought I'd share this with you very excited to get stuck into this one, I had owned a couple of 996 C2's and 944 S2, toyed on a GT3 but I think this is possibly going to keep me happy :)

I think I prefer this to the backdates that are so popular. A properly modified car respecting the original looks great IMO.
Excellent

Hello JY44,

Small world, I too reached out to Oli about this 996. And like you my hunt for a 996.1 begun with me looking for a C2, ideally with a Factory Aero Kit. But like you I ended up buying something slightly different, which I collect this coming Friday.

Your CSR is a lovely looking car, as are all the CSR. Yours first caught my attention back in 2020 when it was on Collecting Cars........ And I wasn't even looking to buy a 996 back then.

Good look with it, I'm sure it will garner much attention at future meets.

Appreciate the comments guys,

Hi mate, He did mention that he had a fair amount of interest not something you want to hear when you live 190 miles away and no time to jump in a car there and then but great for Oli haha! Like you the CSR's in general catch my eye I must have missed this one on CC back then Oli did tell me about it but I have seen and few others and almost brought a silver 996.1 C2 CSR few years ago. Sounds like we have similar taste as I too love the factory Aero Kitted .1s my must have option when I was buying them at the time.

I almost always 'stumble' on cars I like from browsing all sorts! I must stop looking now as I think I'm now happy :D

What did you go for in the end? hope you enjoy and the weather clears up for collection day.
