Congrats enjoy, definitely get those belts done and the cam chain slipper tensioner which is not a service item and when worn can cause a lot of expensive damage to the camshaft drive teeth (x2) it is an easy job do not scrimp get it changed if not already done. Those rear seats look as though they are leather which if so is quite rare, try Sulzeruk, Elliot, for carpets who frequent this forum, then James Eaton (Only 9) Simon Butterworth at Porsch a Part and good old E Bay. Hi all, after many years of wishing I owned a Porsche I've finally bought one. It's a 1989 944 S2 with 132,000 miles on the clock, didn't really have much of a history with it but it's had a new clutch, new tyres and refurbished alloys recently and has done just over 800 miles in the last 4 years.

I'm slowly building up a list of things to do but the obvious ones are:

Belts well overdue - Belts etc along with water pump being replaced at the end of this week.
Carpets - It didn't have any so I'm looking out for a full set of black carpets, this will be top of the list once the belts are done.
Front seats worn - No damage, just worn so I've ordered some dye to do it myself.
Sunroof - doesn't work, makes a noise the first time I press the button then nothing.

The car runs really well and I'm loving it although not using it much until the belts are replaced, can't wait to get out in it!

Thanks for the welcome guys, I checked out the parts prices online for belts etc then got a quote from my local independent garage who have looked after my BMW for many years and I thought they were quite reasonable so I'm dropping the car off with him tonight, hope I've done the right thing! The rear seats are indeed leather and don't look like they've had much use, not sure how long that will last as my kids love the car and want to be in it all the time. The sills don't look too bad to my less than knowledgeable eyes, no corrosion externally, some inside while taking photos with my phone but not enough to worry me. Hope to be out on the road at the weekend with the new belts!

A lot of people reckon the 944 S2 though not the quickest is probably one of the most capable and nicest every day drivers. I know that car. It's a decent S2 it's go my old d90's on it.And if I remember correctly it needs a wing on the front as one of them is the wrong one.Happy 944ing and hopefully we will see you over the summer.

Didn't get started unfortunately, he didn't have the flywheel lock and tried to make something up to do it but failed.

Thanks, there was no stickers on the car when I went to see it. I'll be back with lots of questions, the first being where's all the water getting in to the floor from!

Mick, the PO, put some decals on the car previously when he occasionally tracked it. He's a bit of a hobby decal guy !

Where is the floor wet? In the back is usually the sunroof drain holes being blocked.
