My 968 detailed.......

I put an order in for a PC for Christmas but santa (my wife) didnt deliver the goods :-( Some mumblings about spending too much time in the garage - so I became resourceful and used a random orbital sander i have. Not bad, but curious to use a PC just to compare speeds etc[8D]

Getting some good results with your improvised PC - well done.
Problem with using DIY store type dual action sanders, is the size of the "orbit compared to the PC - which is considerably larger...at the end of the day it simply increases the work rate and probably generates some useful extra heat to help break down the abrasives into finer polishing products

Be an article in the Concours or Tech Articles section on using the PC soon. - finishing touches being applied

Following a search on the net I have found the Porter Cable 7424 for $99.00 from Tools Plus.com, this appears to be very cheap compared to Autopia - $149.00. I have emailed them to confirm the price and postage to Northern Ireland, Paul

Thats cheap alright - the only problem now is the tax you get charged from the states now. You could ask them to wrap it up as a birthday pressie to avoid this [;)]

I bought one tonight. It is costing $151.30 delivered via Airmail. I asked if they would reduce the ammount shown on the invoice, but they refused. They did however state that they would mark it as a gift.
I have also purchased the accessories from Autopia.
It will be interesting to see how much duty I will end up paying.
Looking out for a cheap 240v to 110v transformer now!
