My 944

It's a miserable wet day in Edinburgh today (and I've got the day off) so I thought I'd try to upload some photos of the car. Took these in her garage so not brilliant quality.
Anyway, I've had her for 6 years. She came from Strasse (and was bought by my lovely girlfriend who I've been with for 18 years). She's just passed her MOT with no advisories (the car - they don't do MOTs for girlfriends ?)

She has a working clock !

I had a 6 CD autochanger fitted

which does a Jimmy Bond trick and opens up a Europe-wide Sat Nav

I think it looks rather cool

So for my 40th my girlfriend and I drove to Switzerland

Other than that all is pretty standard

And I hope to keep her forever

Nice whip...it is ming in Edinburgh today you're not wrong! Do you live on the South side? I have only ever seen one other 944 around Edinburgh and that was in town or South side.

Thanks for the compliment ! I work on the South Side and see a few 944s around. There is an S2 I sometimes see in Gilmerton (white) and see a red Lux from time to time. Have also seen a black Turbo parked up on Drummond Street. They are rather thin on the ground. Edinburgh seems to be more Cayenne and Boxster territory.

HaHa - our cars are related ! Mine has 2/2/1988 as the build date and 1/8/1988 as the registration date. Apparently was sold from a place called 'Chariots St Albans'. I wonder if yours came from the same place ?

This was taken the day she was bought - somewhere near Leeds. Having stopped the car and got out so my girl could take a snap we got back in and I couldn't get her started. After many attempts and ignoring my lady's advice to phone Strasse and ask them I caved. When I did call they asked me what key I was using."The one I was using before" I said. "Try the one with the round end" they replied. Ahh - I hadn't realised the one that opens the doors didn't start it as well !

[/img] Excuse the arrogant expression but I was SO chuffed having a Porsche 944 - and still am.

That's a really good looking car Jonathan - I like the flip-up satnav! However, before you enter her in your region's show and shine, the anoraks would comment on the alignment of tyre valve, locking wheel nut and centre crest. I find it hard to believe that the concourse judges are that picky (for want of a better but far less polite word!).

Yup, sold by the same garage, build date 5/7/88 and registered 26/9/88.

Hi Andrew, I remember seeing your car at Knockhill last year, I think it was Classic Speedfair, we also had a chat. Alan.

Hello Alan - I remember chatting to you and your boy - glad you've still got the car. Will hope to start doing a few more things like Knockhill. Really need to get out more often and socialise ! Hope to take some more pictures today in the dry.
