mp3 for becker Cd system

I burn MP3 music onto CD's and they play fine in my 997S, using the CD changer unit, which I believe is exactly the same as the CDR-6 unit in the 996.
I don't think you'd have a problem with the discs, but plugging your MP3 player in directly might be rather more complicated.
I think there is a company called Dension which does MP3 adaptors/leads, but I haven't tried this for myself, so can't give any feedback on that issue.

You may may be better trying an FM modulator which connects to MP3 payer and transmits the music to your radio. No wires, similar to bluetooth for phones ...however as you are transmitting radio signals there is aquestion over legality in UK ... pirate radio station etc etc. Try iskins.co.uk for bits ... http://www.iskins.co.uk/

I guess you have a post about May 2005 997. Mine was delivered in April 2005 and the unit only plays regular CD's . later cars such as yours plays MP3. The 996 do not have the ability to play MP3.
dension are developing an iPod conncetor for the 997/ late 996 radio systems ( called MOST) and had promised it in the middle of 2005. I am still waiting.
I would not be too keen to use a plug in FM modulator although I use a portable FM which gives reasonable results from iRiver. The best results must be from a hard wired system.

Thanks for the info on the Dension connector- useful tip that.
My 997S is an October '04, and plays MP3 recorded CD's (my own dreadful compilations, Pop-Pickers - Not half!) without any bother.
Maybe I just got lucky!
