MOT Passed

You are too modest. In reality, regardless of the excellent original design and build quality, the credit belongs not to the car itself but to you and/or anyone else working on the car. What it really means is that you are keeping it well looked after.

Cheers guys! The car does get well looked after LT as you point out, for me that's half the fun of owning such a car. From reading your posts it seems you keep on top of things too. How's the clutch coming on Rob? Not seen any updates for a while? Stuart

The clutch has been in for about three weeks mate but I have been doing a lot of restoring whilst I have been at it pics to follow. The transaxle went back in last weekend and the exhaust system thanks to some local help. You know who you are guys [;)] Hoping to get the intake manifold and everything else hooked up tomorrow and turn the key.

Stuart, Yes, it's true that my car also had a clean pass at the last MOT, though given the depth of mechanical restoration in the previous 12 months it would have been a shock if it hadn't. And with this summer's transmogrification ongoing at Daytona Coachworks, taking long-term care of the bodywork and paint, it should be relatively plain sailing for the next several years too. All at a price, of course, and a substantial one, though I continue to cling to the proposition that when future-proofing a 20 year old car it's cheaper and better overall to get everything done early on, minimising all the assembly and disassembly, rather than do it all in dribs and drabs. However, I am testing that theory pretty close to its limits...
