Car went in for it's MOT yesterday. Passed with flying colours. First time in 4 years it has passed straight away without needing any rectification work. Last week the indicators had been intermittently playing up, but a clean up of the contacts on the relay seems to have sorted it out. Just need to address the first signs of bubbling sills to make sure it passes next year!

Nice one!
Mine went through just needing a loose wire on the horn re-connecting and a new brakelight bulb, not bad for 22 years and 200k miles!

It's always a relief isn't it? Mine passed just over an hour ago with the Reg plate light bulb holder just needing a tap to get it to come on. One advisory that the front wheel bearing needed tightening as it hadn't been checked since it was replaced last year.

I think I'd got myself into panic mode with all the recent threads on rotten sills. Gave it a good internal and external inspection myself and it all looked fine and it is well protected with every rust-proofing compound/chemical you can name BUT you still have that nagging doubt. Anyway, spoke to the MOT inspector afterwards and he confirmed that it was rock solid underneath. Unusual, he said, as most of the 944s he gets to see are turning rapidly into rust buckets.

It's great to hear the good stuff about the cars that "fly through" especially when they're 20+ years old!

totally agree!, mine passed 1st time with no advisorys, she was at 156,000 [roughly], inspires confidence though, regards jason p
