Hi All

Just a reminder that R18's next monthly meeting is on Wednesday 17th October at Garstang Golf Club at 20.00hours.

Our speaker this time is Peter Lovatt-Horn who has just retired as PR Manager for Lancashire Constabulary. Peter will be telling us about this part of his career talking to the press at major disasters. He was heavily involved with the Morecambe Bay Cockle-Pickers disaster, and will be bringing along video footage.

Previous to this role he was Motoring Editor for a local newspaper.

CHRISTMAS HAMPER RAFFLE

JUST ANOTHER REMINDER THAT SUE & MAC ARE COLLECTING ITEMS FOR THE BUMPER CHRISTMAS RAFFLE, AND DONATIONS WOULD BE GRATEFULLY ACCEPTED.

Please bring these along to October meeting, or at the very latest November's.

Sue is happy for cash donations, and will purchase items on your behalf.

Funds raised from this raffle, as well as the monthly raffle, are used to help run our Region.

Last years winner needed assistance to help him carry the hamper out to his car.

Regards

David

David,
would have loved to have mussled in with the cockle pickers night but have series of college board meetings tonight, also in November;-regrets & apologies.

Colin.

Its ok colin..fred and I thought he clammed up more than he mussled in..[;)]

please add any other fish based references below..................................

joking apart I thought peters presentation was very interesting and quite thought provoking too

As Zeb says Peter's presentation was very interesting. You couldn't 'winkle' any more information out of him, he didn't want to 'skate' on thin ice so we weren't 'perch'ed on the edge of our seats.
And a bloody Tyke went and won a prize in the raffle - that cheque better be on its way to CH!
Cheers,

Fred,
I thought I might get you going;sounds like you had a whale of a time with only a ray of truth in it,apart from the codology, but then this isn't the plaice for it.
