Modified insurance

I've read the insurance thread and contacted those insurers that have covered those who I know have modified turbos but does anyone use anything other than:
Lancasters
Haggerty (won't do modified cars)
FJ
RH

I'm with A plan now so they will quote but any others?

David - patiently waiting for my newly Promaxed car.

ClassicLine cover mine - all mods declared.

Premium is about £400 for 5,000 miles.

Yep, that's a good list to start with.

I'm with A-plan just now, but have used Lancaster before.

You should also try CVI and TR Youngs (they're just a small broker but have done very well for me in the past).

CVI: http://www.cherishedvehicleinsurance.co.uk/

TR Youngs: http://www.allstyles.biz/

TR Youngs especially were never fazed by my car modifications"”my premiums stayed the same no matter how far I went with new bits and pieces.

Richard Egger (now REIS).
Sureterm. My MX-5 is insured through them and modifications barely raise an eyebrow (roll bar +10% or rollcage +15% etc).

Classic Line - really good company to deal with (although I've never had to claim..)

Will cover any classic / future classic - didn't have any problems with my caged, road legal civic race car (although it was slightly more expensive than my 944 turbo) they even agreed to cover occasional business use for the 944 on a classic policy.

I will be calling them this week to get some cover on a new purchase [;)]

Believe it or not, its always worth inputing your details into one of the comparison sites and see what pops up.

One year I placed mine with Sainsburys for £290 fully comp £100 excess! underwritten by Esure as it was the cheapest by £100!

I am with Footman James, car has roll cage, gaz golds, exhaust etc and its £322 a year for 3,000 miles

Oooh,newly Promaxed!
What did you do,what did you do!????
Do a thread on it with some impressions etc?????
Pretty please!!
We need more build type threads if anyone does stuff to their car,i love those![:)]

Mine is currently covered by Tescos, as they were the cheapest by around 12%. (And it surprised me, too!)

Oli.

Mine is with FJ. It was about £190 per year when the car was standard (250 bhp), and is about £230 now it is modified to about 320 bhp. That's for 5000 miles a year. So don't be expecting the mods you're doing to make a huge difference to the premium. Compared to the cost of your shiney new KWv3, it's buttons[:D]

Footman James have just told me they don't cover cars with rear seats removed!!

It's whatever the insurer wants it to mean I think..

RH looking good though (sorry for the thread hijack..) Classic Line have come back with a crazy price

Stick a couple of deckchairs in the luggage compartment folded down and fastened with bungees, technically correct [:D]
I am with FJ mods declared no problemo, but i was considering going 968 CS rear ie: No seats luggage deck instead of seats as i have CS front seats and you cannot really access the rear seats anyway, i have the rear seat back permanently folded down, no difference to having no rears really.
