Missing under load

Hi all, have a new problem, after getting her through the MOT, lots of work........... i now have a miss or what seems like a miss when accelerating under load, such as an incline, not hard acceleration.

I think its HT leads, dis cap, rotor arm, or air mas meter ? maybe fuel pump pressure,. Just thought i would ask to see if any one had a similar issue, and cured it.

Thanks for any feed back on this before i start spending on a trail...... 944 2.5 1986 8v .

Phil, How old are the plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm? Replace all of these and post back on here if the problem doesn't go away ... It could be any of these, although my guess is that the problem is it is one of them (as opposed to the fuel pump - I suspect the problem is electrical.) The HT circuit side of things is often neglected and then causes problems like this. The good news is that these parts are quite cheap for the 8v cars (as opposed to the b^&tard rip-off prices for the 16v cars ... !) Oli.

Cheers,,, Yep on with that, there not that old to be honest, couple of years on cap and rotor, leads ? plugs around 12 months, but doing them all any way... just thought i would ask as some times the obvious is not the case. And you are very right on 16v's, my last one was 16v and part prices changed a lot......... The car is good, i do 600 miles a week in her so a daily runner, and as i wanted to use the 944 every day looked for another 8v, just a bit more "hardy" and cost affective. But the plan is to get a turbo over the next couple of months, held it off for to long................. phil..........
