PCGB. Region 9. West Midlands
The Bear on the 3rd of April was a good social evening with several new Members mixing well with the regulars. One or two of these missing with business or similar commitments elsewhere. As usual, we were amply supplied with tea or coffee and several of us remained quite late.
We have always found it a pleasure to find our way once a month to the meetings of the clubs we have joined. If you hesitate to come along, please try it. It is always an opportunity to meet other Members with similar cars and usually similar problems. Thus is friendship born. Whatever you own you will be made welcome. Or even if you are just "˜expecting' or an enthusiast.
Next month, on June the 5th, we are invited to hold our meeting at the Sutton Coldfield OPC with new Dealer Principal, Alan Westwood. These evenings are always a hit with Members, no hard sell but a common interest to enjoy our company, usually with a few surprises thrown in. Do come along, from 7.30pm onwards. No doubt, stalwarts, Mavis and Colin Billington will be there to introduce us. Colin works there and they both have done five dedicated years for Region 9 as previous RO's.
Invitation from AMOC.
Wednesday June the 13th, also brings us with an invitation from the Aston Martin Owners Club, to join them at their Show Night at the Talbot Inn, Chaddesley Corbett, between Bromsgrove and Kidderminster. There is always a good show of Astons on this night. Please let me know if you are coming, as we may have to control numbers. They have said to me in the past "That they don't want to be swamped by Porsche " Haa ! Arrive around 7.30pm onwards or earlier if you wish to eat first.
Looking forward to the 3rd of July, we shall be back at the Bear Inn. Hopefully it will be a fine summer's evening and we can enjoy our cars and each other's company outside. With one of the first Concours Competitions, at Kirtlington, the following Saturday, what about a preview with a good display of shiny cars all ready for the fray.
Region 13's Treasure Hunt.
Sunday July the 22nd, brings an invitation from Hereford, Worcester and Shropshire Region, to join their always excellent Treasure Hunt, in and around their three Counties. Contact me for particulars or look at R13 Forum.
Silverstone Classic PCGB Festival.
Well documented in the last Porsche Post, but a reminder that here is another opportunity to get those Concours points ready for Ragley Hall.
Concours. - You will have read elsewhere that there is a new approach to advancement in Concours with a final collective competition at Ragley Hall in September.
CURBOROUGH.
The afternoon of Thursday the 9th of August, will see us at Curborough Sprint Track between Lichfield and Burton on Trent. This is situated alongside the old Fradley Airfield, South of Alrewas.
There will be a reasonable limit to the number of cars, to allow sufficient runs, safely, for those
who will be participating. Therefore, I cannot emphasise too much that it will be first come first served. So put it in your diary, but book as soon as you can, to reserve a space. Call me on 01905 620687 to book and obtain details.
CONCOURS.
We need to think about our own Concours , although I have not been inundated with enquiries so far !
If you feel you really want one beyond those already advertised, do let me know so we can arrange something in good time.
I have been asked to find some volunteers to help at Ragley Hall. No doubt there will be a crush, so I shall stand back and wait your call ---- Pleeeeease.
A 2007 Programme is now available and several of you will receive one. If you do not, ring me and I will send you one.

Not a weekend event, I know, but by October, we shall be back in our room and I have arranged for Peter Cook, to come and tell us about the Club Archives and show some films etc.,
If you have what you may call common or garden pictures, films videos etc., let Peter know, as what is familiar today, even by dress sense, is history tomorrow.
Maybe I shall see you at Le Mans.
