PCGB, Region 13, Hereford, Worcester & Shropshire March 2009 The Hadley Bowling Green Inn on the Last Tuesday of the Month. Post Code WR9 0AR I cannot, this time, comment upon our March meeting, as it has not yet occurred. Due to the holidays (What are those ?), I have had to put the report in early. However, I can report on the Karting with AMOC, at "Full Throttle", Stourbridge. We fielded a contingent of fourteen drivers, but it fell to Rob Croxford to bring us a fourth position. First was by a fellow from a badminton club, second and third from Team Lotus and 5th;6th and 7th, Team AMOC. Of course, I know many of you were beginners this year, so I will let you off this time. I do know however, that you all enjoyed yourselves. As for me, well, this month saw me attending the VSCC Marshals' Dinner and the next weekend marshalling at the VSCC Hereford Trial. An eventful month for at least one of us, not to mention the AGM. More about VSCC below. May Our annual run at Curborough track, is back. May the 13th is on a Wednesday this year The cost will be £30 per driver I will need your cheque up front, made out to PCGB with Curborough written on the back At the time of writing, I am very short of applicants, so hurry and fill the gaps to avoid cancellation. Forthcoming Events. 28th April. Hopefully you will get PP before this so, a reminder that a short presentation is arranged at the Bowling Green, by Heritage Insurance, who are sponsoring the Club. This is well worth coming to, I am now insuring all my cars with them, as they are very competitive and arranging insurance with good companies. 13th May, Our only Region organised event this month, is at Curborough, please see my plea above. 26th June. This is our SHOW NIGHT at the Bowling Green, as usual. Last year it was a great event, with many visitors in everything from a vintage 30/98 Vauxhall, right up to latest Porsches, Astons and an Audi. Do come along, enjoy, and maybe, win a prize. 8th August, Saturday. The VSCC, Vintage Sports Car Club, will be holding their 75th Anniversary celebrations at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern on this day and other specialist car clubs are invited. I have arranged an invite for PCGB to attend, where we will also be able to pitch a club tent. In particular, we shall be looking for early Porsches, although all are welcome. The VSCC hope to put on a display of sports cars through the ages, so we must find a place in this. This is very much a family event with many activities, including autojumble; driving tests; gymkhana; pedal car driving tests; picnic and jazz band; air display and much more. Let me know as soon as possible, if you wish to display your car, so I can make arrangements. Now for a reminder, for those who do not know. In this high tech age, I live in an Internet blind spot and cannot get Broadband. So, it is no use putting comments and or questions on the Web or Forum, that you hope I will read. Also, I cannot receive e-mail. Please don't e-mail someone else on my behalf, because, they have to ring me for an answer, which you could well have done yourselves. My phone or 1571 work well, and so does the post. "Snail mail" for me, is "E-.mail" ! From the "Black Hole", John Lord.
