Macan S - Adding wheel arch extenders part# 95B04480005

My current Macan S II came with 19-Inch Macan Turbo Wheels which are very functional but I feel 20 or 21's would look much better. On the Porsche accessories website the only wheel offered is the 21" RS Spyder Design wheel which is nice but I personally prefer the Porsche Macan Turbo IV 21" but wheel choice directly from Porsche seems to be very constrained.

On the Porsche website it appears 20" or 21" must only be fitted "Only in conjunction with wheel arch cover (part number 95B04480005)". Has anyone had these fitted retrospectively? Are they really essential? Presumably it is related to the rear wheel offset.

Does anyone on the forum have advice for switching to 20 or 21". Does the car need to be recalibrated in any way? What would I need to be aware of regarding TPM sensors. The car does have air suspension.

Thanks.

Tim.

Just looked them up, we have them fitted on ours which is running 20" rims, says they are for spray and stone protection for attachment to the rear wheel housings when adding larger wheels (20"+) to the vehicle.

I recently removed my 20” winter wheels and tyres and put back the original 21” summer ones. This was the first time I have changed them as usually my OPC did the swap, but due to a long lead time, I did it myself.

When I took the car on its first run, a message appeared asking if I had changed the wheel diameters, then gave me options for the tyre size….. 20 Winter, 20 Summer, 21 Summers etc. I selected the new size and after about a mike, the system recalibrated and all worked fine.

Hope this helps….

David

PS, my various Macans, with either 20 or 21 rims have always had these small wheel arch covers fitted…..

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. Once the arch extenders are fitted it seems relatively simple (apart from choosing the size and style).
