For those of you that have enjoy a nice run out, you may be interested in a very good scenic tour that is organised by the Midland Automobile Club every two years. It is open to any sports car, and also any classic car.

There is a choice of starting locations: at Shelsley Walsh, the Ludlow Food Centre, Gaydon Heritage Museum, or the Cheltenham Chase Hotel. The participating cars then cover 4 different scenic routes, which all converge to finish at Shelsley Walsh, Worcestershire, in the heart of our region.

The entry fee is £85 per car (2 people) and includes breakfast at your chosen starting location, a road book detailing the scenic route to the finish, a commemorative tour plate, and once you arrive at Shelsley Walsh, an untimed ascent of the famous hillclimb, a photograph of your car on the hill, a tour of the water mill, and a pig roast to the accompaniment of a brass band at the finish.

It is a very enjoyable day out.

You can find more details here:

And you can download an entry form here:

Wendy and I will be participating, starting from the Ludlow Food Centre.

The photo below is of us on the hill climb at the end of the 2014 event.

Hi Phillip, I think the MAC Classic is open for all sports cars as Jude and I did it in our Boxster in 2014.

Adrian

Hi Adrian,
I have checked with the organisers and you are right, sports cars of all ages are welcome.
Thanks for pointing it out, I have amended my original post to say so.
Philip
