Lux to S2 brake conversion

This topic has more than likely been discussed many times but I have used the search but no luck finding anything.

Is it possible to fit S2 calipers to Lux?
What needs to be changed? Is it as simple as change the hangers or is there more too it?
Something Id like to do over winter months so thought I best research what I need to purchase first.
Thanks in advance.

You need the hubs and lowers, the rear calipers will fit straight on. I have all you need if you want the parts including calipers.

What kind of money am I looking at? I only want them purely for looks as they have Porsche on them and look a million times better than standard ones.

Safety? Speaking of which, 8v cars dont have a proportioning valve, so simply bolting on larger front and rear calipers is a recipe for disaster. Youll need all new pipes and a brake bias valve.
 
Personally, I think the old cast iron calipers give better feel, and are certainly easier to maintain than the S2 Brakes... I suspect the biggest advantage is lower unsprung weight - oh, actually, you're right - that is the second biggest advantage over looks, and having Porsche written on them!

I think somewhere I saw "caliper covers" to make them look like multi-pot calipers without the agro!
 
You can buy dodgy plastic covers in a range of flavours from eBay.

Or just paint them and sticker them up as I did on my lux:

Terrible, but Daves differrs from every other cast caliper paint that Ive ever seen - its well done.
 
I thought they looked pretty good peeking through D90s. The car was red too and that helped.
I removed the calipers and disassembled them; a good wire brushing and liberal spraying and rubbing with brake cleaner. Then about 4-5 coats of calipers paint until I had a nice uniform glossy colour.

Bravo. Good handiwork! Is it worth doing a DIY thread on how it was done? (Do you have photos taken while doing it?)

I may have some photos somewhere but it was really simple.

The sliding calipers come apart really easily and you can give them a good cleaning up then.

I left any non-visible or contact surfaces with only a coat or two of paint and gave the other areas several coats. Then it was a case of reassembly and some eBay brake calipers stickers added.

The finish was fine for over a year but a trackday left them in need of a touch up.

If I were in that situation again I'd pull the rubber seals out and get them powdercoated properly.
