Help required ..

Recently acquired a garage in house move and need trolley jack to assist with minor work on car.

Jack must be from a reputable company but more importantly fit under the car without first driving on to wood, jacking car up with other jack etc i.e. low profile trolley jack - seem to be freely available on the net from US but no luck in UK .......any ideas ??

They seem rare!! -I back the car onto a couple of plastic 'cheeses' I use to level my motorhome -no problem.

Feck maurice -I paid twenty quid at Halfords....and this to replace a previous one that lasted for 5 or 6 years and only gave up becuse a clip to the piston wore out and no spares were avaialble.

I know I love my car dearly, but are these gold plated?

How low do you want to go ?

Mine's from Halfords, as well.
It goes underneath the engine on my lowered car, and lifts the car. What more can I say ?
Oh, and it's bright yellow.

It does exactly what it says on......

Oh no, been watching too much TV. Must stop now.

What I meant was that my 'yellow peril' jack went uder the engine, and lifted the car high enough to put axle stands safely under the car; I did not go under the car until these stands were in place.

So, it did it's job, I did mine (re-soldering the reversing light swith), and no safety was compromised.

Crappy wheel, poor stability etc. - who cares, I just used it to lift the car !

I bought a 2 tonne Draper from a local car accessory shop for £19.99. It is listed as going down to 120mm whereas all the ones in Halfords were listed at 140mm. It goes under my 944 on lowish M030 suspension with 10mm to spare

It is listed on the www.draper.co.uk website as item 59341 but they have it at £35 (I am sure I paid under £20)

Brian,

Thanks for the advice. Taking the car to Phils would be great except that Phil has even less space then I do to work on the car. The trolley jack was to allow Phil to work on his car also.[8D]

Regards, Kevin
