Loosening up

I have just turned 2800 miles and have noticed that the car is really beginning to loosen up, acceleration is much better than when it was brand new. I am using Optimax and ran the car in as per the Porsche book (well nearly) has anyone else noticed an improvement in acceleration since new ?

I wish......as it gets quicker I just drive it faster, was getting 22 mpg now down to 18.5 mpg
 
You might find after the first service/oil change the engine will feel significantly smoother and stronger - don't know why, maybe just getting rid of the "newness" gunk out of the engine.
 
I have 1900 miles on mine and its starting to get better, brakes took 1000 miles to bed properly. MPG improved from 20 to 21.7 over the last 3 months. I'm still getting used to the steering though (sometimes forget that less lock is needed at the lower speeds)
 
I've driven 1400 miles so far and, sure enough, the engine has loosened up but it obviously has a way to go yet.

When I took delivery 3 weeks ago, I took the car on a long run and averaged 23.7 mpg over 600 miles. However, my last tank full only yielded 18.5 but that was with mixed driving. I have noticed that it's burning quite a bit of oil (first 2 bars on the display) so I'll be topping it up tomorrow.

I must admit that it's becoming easier and easier for my speed to creep up so I have to keep restraining myself.

I have done 5800, and had my first track day. I am still getting over it[:)]
I think I can say with a degree of confidence, it is fairly loose now. Well my bottom was after my first run @ Bedford[;)]
 
1400 miles 28mpg on a run down the motorway (80/85mph ) and 24 round town, looking forward to a track day in april as the car feels quicker than the 4s,s i have come out off
