Looking for a nice 82 or early 83 944

Hello,

I 'm searching for a nice 944 manufactured in 1982 (the VIN must be something like WPOZZZ94ZCN4....). This means that the car may be registered as an 82 or an early 1983. The reason for this is that I want to import it to my country as a classic/antique car that must be at least 30 years old. Oh, and it must be a LHD... If you have any suggestions other than theese found on autoscout.eu and mobile.de please help me.

Thanks you!

Aww mine's DN

I was hoping it would be sought after in at least one respect. Looks like I'm stuck with the old girl once I get her running again.

Does that mean you are not actually looking to buy it until 2012 or 2013 when it actually becomes 30 years old?

Is this because there is a big tax to pay on non-classic cars? Which country just out of interest?

I want to import it to Greece. Importing old but, not classic, cars here is almost impossible due to the extremly high tax you have to pay.

I confess that I'm a little confused. If you were to buy a nice '82 car now and import it, surely as it's only 29 years old you'd still have to pay the high tax?

Have you tried autotrader.co.uk and pistonheads.com?

I can store the car in a private garage for a few months before officially importing it so there is no problem with an '82.

I'm not selling mine.

But, she was registered in November '82 and has a DN chassis number.

As far as I know D = 83, C = 82 etc. Is it possible that a car made in 82 has a D instead of a C in its VIN? Maybe the factory has a different approach and changes the letter before the end of the year.

D = 1983 model year. The 1983 production year started in September 1982. A letter from Porsche will confirm the cars specification and assembly date.
