Locked out of the engine bay!

Yes, I just cannot open the front lid; I suspect I did not close it vigorously enough! In any event when pulling the release there is just no catch/resistance at all. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions - just had an oil switch replaced and was trying to monitor the oil usage.

In the meantime...try this.....sit on bonnet (seriously) and see if it CLICKS DOWN...if not....get someone else to pull catch while you push up/down on bonnet (hood)...

Will get back to you here in a few hours with last option....

Answer is...

Assuming answer above didnt work...

1. Go to quadrant (triangular plastic bit that you pull) and make sure cable IS in place....if not....push back into quadrant and hold in place with hand while pulling quadrant...

2, If cable is still in quadrant then its bonnet catch end and its hard to get at as there is a plastic shield in the way that needs forcing to one side to get at bonnet cable..

The Quadrant parts are a few pounds each and the cable is around £24 (so I am told)

Also if cable is broken at quadrant end...pull cable with a pair of pliers or molegrips to release bonnet..

But of course, the owners deserve the cars and the cars deserve the owners, or is it the other way around?!!!
