Led door pin question

Can anybody with these please help me, my car has them fitted although one was broken. I have since gained a replacement but unlike the other it does not flash (it stays illuminated when locked) is this correct, should one door be different ot the other or did some cars have flashing units and others have ones that are illuminated constantly ?

It should flash, otherwise it's just going to be a constant drain on the battery. Are they LED? I just assumed it was an old-fashioned light bulb in there. [&:]

If they are LEDs (and I am sure they are) then where did you get the replacement from? Some LEDs are designed to flash; if a continuous voltage is applied to them then they flash. Others don't. I suspect you have one of the latter, and need one of the former ...

Oli.

From memory and it was a long time ago that my car still had doors on it never mind led's. My passenger door would flash but the drivers door stayed on.Also the car would only start if it was opened from the drivers door with the key. If you opened the passenger door with the key the the car would turn over but not fire even with the imobliiser switched of.

This is the senario I have but the other way round, I have had a look tonight and the replacement unit does have a slightly different part number on it.

They are indeed led's would one led on constant really be enough to drain the battery, they cant draw theat much current can they?

There are 2 different types of buttons. One which flashes on it's own and one that flashes from a feed elsewhere. You need the right ones for your car. I had the same problem a while back Scott.
