Nick,

I would like to do some re-colouring of my front seats cobalt blue old to cobalt blue new.

May I ring you and pick your brains

yes no problem , Sunday is normally a good time.Maybe I should put together a 'how to do article ' ? and where to get the best products from.

+1 - also re Cobalt Blue! Gear knob and handbrake handle, colour has worn off, also drivers seat has lots of creases/cracks in both side bolsters, and Gliptone has not done much good!

The last post sums the problem up - the products usually recommended such as Gliptone are from from up to the job usually...

Further to my first post, on closer inspection it appears that these seats actually have vinyl backs and sides, not the leather that the vendor had stated; so Im now looking to find out about vinyl re-colouring...[:D]

I do still have two other sets of leather which need remedial work, and again: Gliptone / Furniture Clinic stuff really isnt going to cut it.

interesting comments about some products , they are usually not intense enough and or have a finish built into the dye and are too weak to do a proper job. There are vinyl spray paints available as well.
If you have photos email to me at info@leatherupholsterycare.co.uk and I will have a better idea of condition and can advise accordingly.Website is under construction, alot more examples to go on.

I can advise where to get the correct products .

I will put together a 'how to colour restore leather ' when I get back from holiday after 18/7 /11.

Ummm, any chance you can do something before then? I am thinking of tackling the leather in my car in the next week or so!

Oli.

Hi Oli,
As I mix all my dye colours myself , I am trying to find the best provider of colour matched leather dyes for people to use. What colour is yours ? if it is black that is easy for me to advise where to get the products needed from , any other colour has to be pre-mixed.
If people can be patient it will be worth it.
