Leather gear gaitor

Apart from the £187 + VAT Porsche item, does anyone know where you can get a quality leather gear gaiter for a 944 S2?

Thanks
Edd

Yes, I bought a black one from Ebay before (£15 odd quid) and thought it was fine.

I think it's a bigger issue getting colour matches for anything other than black though.

I know they are cheap and you might be weary but ghe guy called topgaiters on ebay sells a perfectly good product. i fitted one to the mr2 and its great. I know plenty of folk who have bought them for various cars.

these guys trade on scoobynet and have a great reputation.

ive been considering getting a set as they're cheap and the quality looks great :)

It looks poor though! Not the leather, but the half a gearstick thats designed to be covered, thats now exposed. The problem is that you really, REALLY struggle to fit the new leather over the existing knob. Thatll be why they have opted for a half sized replacement, whichd be alright if the bare knob didnt look rubbish.

Porsche used to supply the boot with a new gear knob - for £200-odd I presume that they still do.

Thanks all.

Yes £187 + vat with knob, i asked Exeter OPC. Although expensive it seems there is nothing else on the market that comes close in looks but the difference in £15 and £200+ is alot!

But then we dont run Porsches because they are cheap.

Yes, we do list the complete knob in some colours at £80 odd. We also do the DIY boots at £28. Dont compare these to the ebay versions though! You get what you pay for!

My gearlever, as recovered with a £15 cover from eBay. This was the first I did, have done 3 or 4 now and getting better at it! It is a bit of a knack. Make up your own mind re quality... this has been on the car for over a year/35k miles, and if anything looks better now.

Got mine from dare I say it Porsche Shop for around £30. Covers the whole lot and the quality is good as long as you do a good fit. New gaiter cut the vibration through the gearstick as well [:)]
