I have seen a 1987 white turbo for sale on a few sites for a while and thought i would have a stab at it - see link below

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3042594.htm

anyway it is in Norfolk at the moment and i have paid a deposit and going to inspect it on monday.

Question is does anybody recognise car?
Seller is Mark Heron who is linked with Buchannan Motors - is he a good lad or does anybody have dealings with him

last question is Rob W are you free for a trip to have a look at this beauty with me as i fear i might get carried away and miss the important bits.

any info on car would be appreciated.

Regards Elliot

They are near Glasgow, quite often have a good value Porsche for sale. Been tempted a few times to view but just to difficult an to far.

Not seen any bad comments on any sites suggest you type the name in to places like piston heads to check,

Have I got the wrong company here or is Buchannan Motors of Glasgow not the company famous for its 'reputation' under various trading names ? , sells 944's on Piston Heads and E-Bay used to be one neame then another.

Forgive me if I have got completely the wrong company but I'm sure its Buchannan Motors and yes there are many comments re them though under a few trading names.

Long way from Norfolk though so I don't see the connection there. Also it's being sold as a project for parts money so as long as it is actually for sale probbaly irelevent to this one.

Regards Mas

Hi Elliot
Where abouts in Norfolk is is? I'm in the Swaffham, Dereham, Thetford triangle and may be able to nip out to help you stop spending your hard earned cash?
Vince

If you do as the man suggests in his advert, there are a load of advisories and a fail!

I'd do a PH search for Buchanan motors. There are some interesting comments.
Never had any dealings with them so can't comment personally.

If the seller can't tart it up for a "proper" sale I suspect it isn't a bargain. Its only a couple of grand cheaper than mine and it sounds many thousands worse! It would be a brave purchase IMO.

Elliot - if you fancy a cheap (but decent!) Turbo give me a shout. I can guarantee mine would be a better purchase than that and I am open to offers (albeit not £2k!)

Thanks James but at £1200 i dont think i can go wrong and even if it is beyond economical restoration i can break it

cheers and good luck on your sale

Hi vince

The car is in East Dereham and i am not oblidged to buy yet as i will only lose my £100 deposit. I am going to look at the car on tuesday now so if you are free i would value your opinion (give me a call on 07514 944 964)

the advisories for discs and handbrake are not the latest as the car has passed the latest MOT so i suspect somebody ressurected it at some point and then the clutch went and the car was sold.

Not too worried as there is a large file of history with it and i will be replacing the runing gear with some 968 CS clobber i have been saving.

cheers
