Thought I'd share my experiences with you all, I've come to the Porsche fold from my old Audi RS4 the B5 Bi-turbo variety.

During my ownership I became hungry for more power and researched into the most reputable companies, this turned out to be MRC Tuning in Banbury. They transformed my car from the standard 380hp to a more manageable 460-470hp with a custom map, full exhaust and modified downpipes.

Anyway now I have the 996 which was DMS550 mapped when I purchased, although being quick I was disappointed with the delivery, making it not nice to drive round town - too jerky.

So I contacted MRC Tuning whose owner Mihnea, has a 996 X50 himself, said they'd do a custom 'live map' on my car. Well I'm very impressed the car is transformed again, very smooth delivery and perfectly manageable round town. Its like a different car, maybe a tad quicker than before but only running 1-1.1 bar boost. Comparing it to his own car, which has been dyno'd at 540hp estimated mine to be between 540-550hp.

Anyway enough ranting, if anyone is thinking of remapping I'd highly recommend this company and if you glance over the Audi forums you'll see they're highly rated, and cheap in comparison to other custom maps.

PM me for any info if you like

It was £1000 all in including the health check they do before hand, which includes pressure check to make sure there's no boost leaks, maf readings to see if it needs replacing first etc etc.
