i got one too. i was a bit cross because the ESS website shows a pic of an oval exhaust and the one that arrived had a big bling round pipe. eventually however i decided life was too short to replace it again, and it sure beats the hell out of a stock exhaust for sound - half the price or less too. can be a bit boomy now and again but overall i thought it a success.
I made sure mine was the oval tail pipe... Yes i found it a bit boomy at times too....I just put it down to the fact it was on a cabrio which had less sound deadening, ie no solid roof....[

My S2 had the twin outlet janspeed with a single main pipe , without cat..I didnt find it boomy, in fact it was just perfect..
Ive had the Janspeed single pipe system, with porsche cat,, that was on my 968 cabrio it was boomy..
I now have a cargraphic twin main pipe system with Porsche cat, on my 968CS i find it great...No booming...

Dave - it does look good on your car I have to say. Here's a pic from the ProMax website. That tailpipe looks oval to me.
