It could happen to you! It happened to me

Hi,

I just wanted to warn people that I had my windscreen and headlight nicked off the SC over the bank holiday weekend, whilst it was parked on our drive. We live in a decent part of Darlington in a modern estate, if it could happen here it could happen anywhere. Unfortunately we don't have the garage space at the moment to park the car away at nights, but I do have access to a fully secured compound and until we move the car is going to parked there as I don't want to wake up to find something else nicked.

If anyone knows of anywhere I can get hold of a second hand headlight unit I would appreciate it I have tried all the usual breakers yards. I will be replacing both headlights eventually when I have the money, and we have moved to a house with a bigger garage and gnarly dogs!

Thought it was worth warning you guys to be extra vigilant, put the alarms on and park the car somewhere secure.

Cheers
Jo

Sorry to hear of your problem Jo. I also live in Darlington but fortunately have a garage to lock my pride and joy away in. What colours your SC ... Ill keep my eye out for you in town :)

did you report it to the police? the only reason i ask is that i also live in Darlington, i was walking to a local cop the other day who told me that someone had had parts stolen off their porsche. It may be you but if not there may be someone going around taking to order??

Hiya

I did report it to the police, mainly as I was thinking about claiming on insurance but also just incase they knew of any activity in the area related to porsches. As it happens the cost of repairs won't touch my excess so I will have to stump up for the replacement light myself, the windscreen is covered as I have a fully comp policy.

I would guess it was my porsche they were talking about [].

It's a gold Y plate SC so give me a toot if you see me around (when i get back on the road that is)

If i see you i'll wave!

i know a cop in Darlington so i will try to find out if there have been any more and will let you know.

carl.
