It’s fixed!

Well after a couple of visits to the localOPD in Leeds, it’s looks like the parking brake defect has been fixed.

Took the car for a 60 mile run yesterday out across the Peak District to Holmfirth and back and no problems with flashing lights or failure warnings.

Really this was my first proper drive since buying it last month and wow, what an experience. Obviously it’ll take a while to explore it but from that drive I think it’s going to be a great learning experience.
I have to thank the dealer I bought it from for persisting in getting it fixed for me.

Congratulations Robert, on finding a solution. Was the dealer able to pinpoint the cause, or was it a matter of trying different things and finding something that worked?

Enjoy your car. hopefully we might see you at one of the events over the summer.

Hi John

well I always thought that it was an electrical fault from all the forums I read. during the first visit the dealer replaced all the brakes discs, shows, pads etc but no effect. In the last visit they replaced the motors (servos?) and the controller unit and since then it’s worked fine.
I took it for a 110 mile run yesterday and again, no fault lights and it run lovely . hopefully after another successful ‘proving’ run, ill take it obver to my place in France in a couple of weeks.

well I’ve attended the Leeds OPD night and hope to be at the BBq at the old post office venue next month.

Hi Robert,

Having followed your previous post on the subject I’m very pleased to hear that the problem finally has been put to bed … and with no expense to you fortunately!

Thanks, I was a bit deflated after getting a car I’d ‘always’ wanted but now I’m finding that ownership is living up to the dream.
So with this, the Harley and my daily (Q2), retirement is not so bad after all. 😎
