Has anyone ordered directly from this company and if so how long did it take to receive your goods?

I ordered a crank-scraper from Kevin Johnson on 29th June via the telephone and paid by visa. I paid for USPS priority mail to get it here in a reasonable time. There has been nothing to date and when I spoke to Kevin at the time he said he had the item in stock and hoped to post it out that day, I have checked with my visa card and the payment was indeed taken that day. Now it could be that something caused a delay but it has been 11 days now and according to USPS it's a 2 day service? What really concerns/annoys me though is the fact that I have now sent 3 e-mails asking for a tracking number and not had any reply at all.
So has anyone else had dealings with this company and how long did it take for the goods to arrive, I'm not worried about the money as visa have already said they will refund the money the moment that I request it but I'm hesitant to do this if the goods are in the post.
A simple reply to one of my e-mails in the first place would have stopped me being concerned about this but it's now holding me up and I have a lot to do...:(

Have you asked the vendor for a tracking number? In all probability its held up by UPS because theyre f*ckers for ensuring that they collect duty on everything that they can, along with the fee that accompanies it.

when buying from stateside...it does taken a week or two before its arrives at yr door Pete, on a side note I had ordered a pair of Koni rear shocks for my "S" from Euro performance 5 weeks ago and i still have not recieved it as of today !!! I also had chase them 3 times now (and will be chasing them again tommorrow, and will probably ask for a refund as i can't wait forever ).

But that the nature of the beast with internet orders !!

Yes I know that it can take time but this is a little different, btw I've ordered many things from the states over the years some of which have been delivered within 2 days. I finally got a reply from I-J yesterday apologising for not replying sooner and stating that my item would be shipped early next day and that USPS would be sending me the tracking number, that's 12 days after it was supposed to have left? I replied saying that I was a little disappointed and that I looked forward to receiving the tracking number later that day, my way of ensuring that I was informed that it had been shipped as promised.
I did indeed later receive my tracking number, however as of this morning it's status is still only in the electronic notification stage, ie it hasn't been collected yet, why I have no idea but I will be actively chasing I-J if this status doesn't change by tomorrow.

I'll keep you all updated.

thats disgraceful ... they obviously didn't really have the item in stock and have been waiting for it to arrive themselves.
Name and shame i think as their lack of response to your enquiries and taking money in advance is disgraceful customer service.

wish I could help,

...but will use the thread to highlight why I use good suppliers like Promax. Once I find a supplier who are helpful and reliable and good value (and answer the telephone), I would never consider running up my phone bill half way round the world...

is there no-one in GB who supply these, or what are they exactly?

good luck with them, may-be they will turn up eventually.

Hi George

Unfortunately my search for a supplier of a crank-scraper in the UK failed, if I had a template and knew what material was used I'd make it myself. That option is still open to me but I'd rather use a proven product instead of doing my own R&D and using up the valuable time that that involves.

As of this morning the status for my tracking number remains unchanged and I'm thinking that the number was only given to me to buy time hoping that I wouldn't chase it up again for a while. Unfortunately for I-J I'm not that gullible , this morning I have e-mailed USPS directly and asked them for the arranged collection date from I-J and also the planned delivery date to me. Once I'm armed with that information rest assured I'll be back in touch with I-J.

As soon as you said that youd asked three times, I thought that they were stalling you Pete. If its any consolation theyre far more likely to be waiting for stock or production, than in any sort of trouble, or trying to lift your leg.

I'm sure your right Simon it just annoys me when I'm lied too. I-J said they had it in stock and should be able to post it that day ( 29th June) that's a long way from reality. The thing is I'm the type of guy who when told it will take a little time, I'll say no problem, I'm fairly easy going. As it stands the USPS status still hasn't been updated which leads me to believe nothing will now happen until after the weekend, my patience is being to grow a little thin now....lol

Today's instalment...

So over the weekend after noting that the label status had still not changed I called USPS directly to check what 'electronic notification' actually meant?, as I suspected it meant that the shipment details had been given to them but that they were still awaiting arrival of the parcel to process...lol
This was still the case today, armed with this information I e-mailed I-J again informing them that I wanted an explanation as to why my parcel had still not been processed, I also made reference to the fact that I was updating a build thread on this forum, and that I'd make a decision as to my next move shortly.
Surprise, surprise quickly after I sent my mail I got a reply with two pictures attached showing the scraper and also a receipt for USPS.
I looked closely at the receipt and noticed two things, first it had a different label number from the one I was originally given and second it was for today's date, also the scraper picture I recognised as being the library picture on the I-J website.

Anyway I checked the status of this new label number and it states ' acceptance' oddly enough so does the original number now so perhaps they are linked although I can't find destination details for the new number yet so will give it a couple of days to see just were it's going.

Why do suppliers do such stupid things, perhaps they get away with it elsewhere, unfortunately for them I have a lot of experience in dealing with suppliers from across the world when employed as a production buyer for the film industry and I know how to get things moving.
I'll update this thread again when I know more.
