Is this as likely to be good as it looks?

No commercial interest whatsoever - but as a watcher of ebay 944 listings with a hankering to buy a daily driver, this looks stunning. No doubt it will be far too expensive for me, but someone on here might be interested:-

Photos look very good indeed and there's certainly no shortage of them. The only area of concern I can see is the nearside sill which is visibly deformed just forward of the rear edge of the door. Something has gone on there, and I would like to look more closely at it. The sills are an area of weakness on these cars and anything that looks "odd" bears investigation.

So temptation calling by a lady in red hey Chris? Looks nice but I have no idea of true value.
Let's call it a hankering - and my lady in red would love for me to buy a 944, she just doesn't know it yet!

I bet it will climb some way above it's current price and so way out of my league (much like my current lady!)

OS sill looks wrong at the front edge as well, could just be the light of course. 119,000 isn't ever going to be considered "low-mileage" in anyone's book, although it's certainly not high. It's at that age where you really need to check timing chain and water pump, valve condition, clutch, probably lots of other things as well.

As always, without seeing it in the flesh it's not possible to judge, and the advert would be better with less pictures and more detail!

its wearing the wrong wheels, and I bet it has had some recent paintwork to make it look shiny for sale.

No question about that - the front PU is way off shade. But if it sells for anything close to it's current price, and if it's anything close to the condition it appears to be in the pics., it's got to be worth a punt (trouble is, Glasgow's a long way from Dorset...)

Same dealer as my 'dealer or no dealer' thread where the Turbo was bought for less than £3k, now advertised for £12995.

So if it's a £5,500 car, why risk bids stalling at £3,500on ebay????? If the reserve is met (which it has) then you have to let it go - right?

I wouldnt touch it. Better to look for the diamond in the rough than line their pockets buying an overly polished car which they bought in the same manner.

I agree, they'll have bought it cheap and tarted it up.

I remember this trader had a 968 club sport for sale for a long time. There was something wrong with it. I'm sure there is a thread on the Scotland section of the forum on him. I'll try and find the link.

To answer the question, "not quite, but if anyone needed a nice clean straight 944 in the morning it would do the job'. Anything short of £4k is good vfm as well.

Its a good example of how well built they are when you look at the panels compared to a 1987 Ford for example. (excepting the N/S sill damage mentioned above and skillfully avoided in the Interior/rear quarter view image [8|]

There have been several threads about this seller on several car/Porsche forums over the 6 years or so I've been an interested party.
