Invites to Sutton Coldfield OPC

Anyone get one for the open evening this year? I certainly didn't.

Last year got one quite early, phoned to book in for the test drive and inspection, and found I was a bit too early as they hadn't sorted out the bookings yet.

I thought I would wait for the invite this year instead of pre-empting and as one still hadn't turned up on monday I gave them a call anyway. Turns out all the test drives have been booked up for about two weeks, Doh!

Anyone know who sends out the invites, because they say they don't, and why I wouldn't have got one this time? I've been a member for over a year and a half, my renewal was last Nov so no gaps in my membership or anything.

i expect it was done thrugh the PCGB regiona organiser who last year was Mavis and Colin Bilington.. this year John Lord is care taking the region i would guess he might have a diffrent system???

I'll just have to remember to get in there early next time!

I take it you will be going then Helen, are you bringing the 944 out or is it still not fixed yet?

I got an invite..but the point is ?
All they wanna do is try and sell you a new car, dangle a carrot, give you a nudge
I suggest if you dont want to spend money then dont go!

its usually quite a good evening..lots of food and good company, i'd be supprisedif they sell anything on one of these evening.


No 944 isn't back yet..having pistons replaced seems some joker (cheapskate)at sometime stripped the engine and fitted the wrong (cheap imitation)parts, which have failed making a right mess of the engine.. luckily it was caught just in time but,is costing me ££££££ []

I had an invite a couple of weeks ago, it looked like it came direct from the OPC, asking for an email to tell them I was going or not..rather than John[&:]
I can't make it either way....

Im sure theres a point to it all, im sure everyone has a great time the the whole point is to generate new customers and sales....
