Interior Plastics Finish

Just cleaned up the PCM knobs with isopropyl alcohol, which worked very well. I had quite a lot of trouble with this type of finish in a previous Italian car, so know how to deal with it. Does anyone know how the other interior plastic at the sides of the engine bay - where the storage boxes are - is finished? It looks like it's coated with a similar soft touch finish. A few scratches on it diminished after a good rub with Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care. However, what is the experience with this finish. Does it eventually degrade and become sticky to touch like the PCM knobs?
