I have been insured through Norton Insurance (Heritage policy) for years.
I have had some more work done this year so wanted to increase the guaranteed value to £30k. Norton asked for an update on mods......EFI added etc so I cringed.
The suggestion was that I provide a list of current state of tune (500bhp+!) and overall mods/condition so they could provide it to underwriter for a view. So I do this but also gave a covering note explaining it has been owned for 11 years, only driven in the dry, never left on roadside etc.
The result.... £30k value agreed, £150 excess, legal cover, breakdown cover...........all-in premium £275! (cheaper than last years £20k value cover..SORTED)
Moral - make sure you provide ALL the facts to the underwriter
