Insurancing a Cayman S. Now its getting serious. Spreading No Claims Discount

Change to an insurer who will accept your NCD on their policy as well or try for a multicar policy
 
I was in a similar position - max no claims on my older car (Vauxhall Tigra) and then a year ago I bought my 2004 Boxster S. Naturally I transferred all my NCB straight onto the Boxster. Because the renewals on the Tigra were going up year-on-year, I decided to transfer it to the same company as was covering the Boxster (Norwich Union/Marsh Private Clients/PCGB) and they gave me an introductory year NCB straight away. As a second car on the same policy, my premium went from over £300 for 3P/F/T under Privilege, to £160 fully comp. I guess it depends a lot on what your "other" car is, but in other words - don't fret - just change insurers!
Absolutely right. You don't need to build up an individual NCB for each car you own - that would be crazy!

Pray tell us who allows that because none of the insurers I have spoken to (about a dozen) have offered that.
 
multicar policy lets face it, if you're driving the cayman, you're NOT driving the focus! ninja
 
[:mad:] [:eek:] I guess we all have our shortlist of professions that we love to hate. I wont give you mine but i will say Insurance Companies seem to want it all ways.

I think I am being a little nieve after years of company car motoring.

After a change of company car policy I bought a basic car for business. Built up nice NCD. But can only use it for one policy. Which I guess makes sense. So I guess I'll tansfer all the NCD to the Cayman S and start again with the Focus.

Unless anyone else has any good advice.

Join the club, then use the club scheme through AManning - they mirrored my Porsche NCD when i bought a second car. Don't forget to declare your factory fitted extras.

Tesco did exactly this for me when I got my Clio 172 which was in addition to a company car. I didn't even have a proper NCB on the company car - just a letter from the lease co stating I hadn't claimed. It was accepted without any fuss at all.
