inner sill repair

I am in the process of repairing the rust on the inner sill and the adjoining area of floorpan.
Can you tell me if there are inner section repair panels available? or is it ok to fabricate metal repairs to just the affected centre section of the inner sill.
Also does the repair have to have retain the large holes that form part of the original inner sill?, or do you fabricate a completely blank flat panel to form the inner sill.
I can see the inner sills from the back as the rusty floor extends to about 3 inches in from the sill, which I have now cut out. Looks as though I could possibly repair from the back.
The outer sills are perfect, and replaced by PO, pity they did not pay more attention to the inner sills at the time!

Porsche will supply both inner and intermediate sill sections. They are not expensive inytermediate is around £30.I made mine using thicker galvanised sheet steel without cutting the hole as big and also I ran a few cross and straight beads up it with a bead roller to increase the strenght of the panel.I would question about the floor though as if it has rusted from the inner sill across to the outer then you should replace it with fresh metal (porsche do whole and half floor pans) as trying to weld onto rust is not easy and it will continue to rot and undo all your good work.I would also remove the bolt on jack pionts while you are there as they are only crap traps any way and I always lift the car using the suspension points or on the chassis rails.

Many thanks for your help Colin and Ed
