Induction noise

Always loved a bit of induction roar, my S2 doesn't make a lot of it, any way to improve it without some massive downside.

I'm not familiar with S2 mods but I'd be looking at an after market Ram air type of setup. I can't remember what make universal type that I fitted to my Turbo but let's just say it was very big and very loud. Not sure how loud such a filter would be on a N/A but I'm sure it would make a difference and add a few bhp too. Of course you could get a Turbo, loud induction, chattering wastegate and a dump valve that vents to atmosphere, doesn't get much better, well perhaps the Shelby Mustang I hired in LA for 9 days beat it..... Just...:)

Will be a turbo coupe next I think, I like my s2 cab but I kind of bought it because it was there, mate of mine told me about it so went and had a look and loved it, think though I will keep it for a while and then look for a turbo, with a few choice mods like suspension and a decent power hike, if something came up I may have my head turned but summers coming and having the cab is a pleasant added dimension, just think I will need the next level in power and a more rigid suspension setup at some point so I can do the odd track day.

Can't argue about the virtues of a 944 Cab, IMHO it's the prettiest soft top on the road, absolutely stunning car.

Pete I really couldn't disagree more about the 944 cab. It's all wrong just wrong!!! I think it does the 944 no justice at all apart from the fact that they were all Turbos or the more inferior but second choice S2 model!

And getting slightly back towards the topic - roof down you can hear the exhaust note with the standard exhaust, on my coupe I wouldnt be without my ESS/Janspeed exhaust, in the cab roof down I enjoy the standard exhaust note.

With the cabriolet I loathe the skin over the top of the rear to cover up the cut and shut [:(]

Lotus Carltons were the same.

I have to say the cab looks fine until you get to the rear end which looks like an afterthought. Its a slab of plain sheet steel like a lid of a can and even needed coach lines to make it look acceptable. ugh .
Looks a nice car with the top up from the front i suppose. .. it just needs something to break up that huge wedge of a boot [;)]

I'd love a cab, I agree that they are one of the best looking cabs around - even now.

What do you mean about the Lotus Carlton?

OP if you like induction noise I have the cone filter setup I pulled out of my S2. I'll send some photos if you're interested. There is a cone filter and a nice adaptor plate for the AFM to a hose. The PO used plumbing bits between the two but you could get a decent setup with a bit of silicone hose.
